Gavin Edwards is a Master Gardener (Edible Plants)™, Master Seed Saver™ and Master of Self-Sufficiency™. He has been growing food plants for more than 50 years.
He grew and maintained the largest seedbank of heritage vegetable seeds in Western Australia and fought against the introduction of genetically engineered crops in WA. He lost the seedbank when attacked by the government after the WA agriculture department went in business partnership with Monsanto. The WA ag department then taught workshops using Mama Earth's common law trademark Sustainable Small Farm™.
He also blew the whistle on permaculturists working with Bruce French a board member of Food Plant Solutions who were taking funding from Monsanto.
Lisa McAndrew has 20 years experience in community development in various settings, and is Australia's first Community Herbalist.
Previously we founded Balingup Sustainable Small Farm™, Australia's first Sustainable Small Farm™. We both have a passion for all things to do with self-sufficiency and loving the earth.
